School Committees
School Site Council
School Site Council (SSC) is a group of teachers, parents, and classified employees that works with the principal to plan, monitor, and evaluate the activities and expenditures for all school improvement programs. SSC plays an important role in decision-making at Carson. All meetings are open to the community.
The California Department of Education provides more information and resources about SSC.
SELAC
School English Language Advisory Committee (SELAC) - Carson’s SELAC committee is an advisory committee made up of families with students who are English Language Learners (ELL). Their goal is to learn about the ELL program at Carson and provide feedback about how the school can best fit the needs of our ELL students. The principal and other district staff will provide information to the parents about Carson’s ELL program. A representative from SELAC acts as an advisor to the School Site Council.
